Bring Up Grades Program announced for Victoria School
What is Bring Up Grades?
Bring Up Grades, or BUG is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades to an acceptable range, and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. Recognition includes being placed on the school’s BUG Honor Roll; a food-themed party; and presentation of certificates, buttons, and other giveaways.
What is the role of the Kiwanis family club?
A sponsoring club helps support the BUG program at the school. The club plans BUG recognition events, provides awards, and establishes partnerships with local community businesses to secure support for the program. Sponsoring businesses have the option of...
Once again, the club is supporting the Costa Mesa High School Girls Basketball Tournament. We provide the trophies and handle ticket sales and admission to the tourney. Thanks to Charlie for organizing this marvelous event. And who says that Kiwanians don’t sell tickets?
We are also supporting the Estancia Winter Classic Basketball Tournament, sponsored by the Lions Club. Thanks to Joe, Fran, and Jim S. for purchasing ads in the tourney program booklet. The club also has purchased an ad.

For the first time in a long while, we had members of both our Key Clubs, OCC Circle K, and Costa Mesa play a role in preparing the floats....
Boys & Girls Club Holiday Party and Toy Drive

Planned by the Builders, the party included Karaoke, games, snacks, and gifts for all. For the first time, we added face painting to the program. “Junior Staff,” older members, many of whom are former Builders helped with all the activities.
This is an important event as many of the children come from families that are having a difficult time economically right now. For some, this party is the bulk of their holiday celebration.
Thanks to all members of the Kiwanis family who participated in the event or donated gifts for the children. In addition to members...
